Theo de Jong and Marike Kauer live in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands with their 4 sons. They moved into their newly built eco-house in July 2018.

"We believe sustainability is important. That's why we wanted to make our new house sustainable and decided the Hydraloop would be a valuable addition. Hydraloop has a beautiful concept that enables us to significantly reduce our water consumption. At the moment, water is still very cheap and self-evident in the Netherlands, but recent years have already shown that this is changing."

David Mertens and his 2 children moved into their new built home in Grimbergen, Belgium in 2019. Combining recycled water and rainwater, they use only 13 litres of water per person per day.

"I work for Durabrik, a project developer, and through a colleague I came into contact with Hydraloop. When I was developing a new housing project, I decided to live there myself. For heating and electricity, I opted for PV panels and an air-water heat pump. In Flanders it is mandatory for new homes to recover rainwater, but we wanted to go even further and also added water recycling. We connected all drains - where possible - to rainwater or recycled Hydraloop water. On average we use only 13 liters of tap water per person per day for the dishwasher, hand basins and for drinking water."

Andrea Volongo and Anne-Claire Josse live in an apartment on the 4th floor of a block of flats in Luxembourg with their 2 sons and daughter. The family completed the renovation of their two bathrooms in 2020.

“I became more and more disturbed by the idea of using fresh drinkable water to flush the toilets. I started to look into technical solutions but only found solutions that were too experimental or far too big for an apartment. Then I found Hydraloop, a proven solution that fits into an apartment. The complete renovation of our bathrooms was the perfect opportunity to get Hydraloop installed. All contacts have been professional and supportive. I am very satisfied, and my overall experience has been outstanding. The app allows me to see how much water is saved every day, sustaining my engagement in more environmentally friendly behaviour. Water recycling is just the right thing to do for the planet.”
